Villa Vuossel is a high-class ecological lakeshore villa situated by the wilderness lake Vuosselijärvi, in Ruka Ski Centre, in the midst of an ancient fir forest. Outside hectic life, located in Kuusamo, close to the Arctic Circle.

The villa is built from heavy deadwood logs and it includes all modern conveniences and is fully equipped. The downstairs double bedroom and the upstairs space offer accommodation for 6 people / apartment. There are comfortable lounges both downstairs and upstairs, a functional kitchen and a dining area, and elegant sauna facilities. Modern furniture combined with Lappish décor and crafts artwork make a luxurious and comfortable setting for a satisfying holiday. The villa is also classified as sustainable development accomodation.

There is also a lakeside summer cottage with a traditional sauna on to be rented separately mainly for those staying at the main villa.

Recreational Activities Nearby

The villa is located on the shore of the beautiful lake Vuosselijärvi, on the east side of the Ruka Fells. It's also close to slopes, cross-country skiing and hiking routes and Ruka Village, but in a very peaceful area in the middle of quiet, beautiful and clean wild nature. We can also offer high-class accomodation with all facilities for bigger groups with our partners.

In the winter it is easy go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice-climbing, ice-fishing on the nearby lake. You can also visit Santa's place, have a fun day in Kuusamo Spa etc. Alpine skiing slopes are only a short drive from the villa. You can possibly see magnificent northern lights already in August, if you are lucky!

In the summer you can find lots to do in the area: there is a lakeside sauna with a sandy beach, canoeing and rowing trips, fishing at the lake (there are free fishing licences for our quests), and the famous Kuusamo rapids, hiking routes and wilderness, visiting the popular Kuusamo's predator centre etc. You may see wild reindeer in the surroundings of the villa sometimes.

In late summer the woods surrounding Villa Vuossel are filled with wild berries and mushrooms, full of summer flavours, waiting to be picked up.

In the winter reindeer and husky riding, snowmobile safaris and tours in search of the nordic lights, ice fishing, a fun day with Santa, guided snowshoe and ski trips, ice karting, ice climbing, traditional smoke sauna etc.

In the summer you can go rapidshooting, canoeing, hiking, fishing and hunting trips with a guide, a traditional smoke sauna, bathing in a hot tub, bear watching in asafe hut in the wild forest etc. Or just relaxing and forgetting about the hectic life, listening to silence and enjoying clean and beautiful nature!

If you are coming to Kuusamo by plane, you can a rent a car from the airport (Avis, Europcar, Herz) beforehand.

Villa Vuossel is a high-class log villa, situated by the lake Vuosselijärvi. Sustainability and eco-friendliness have been taken into account when developing this beautiful property. The downstairs master bedroom and upstairs space/balcony offer accommodation for 6 people / apartment. Since the villa has a saddle roof the free space upstairs is somewhat limited. There are comfortable lounges downstairs and upstairs, a functional kitchen and dining area and an elegant sauna department with 2 showers. The rent includes bed linen, hand and bath towels and cleaning service after your stay. Well suited for families, couples or smaller groups
Sunny yet still a private location (not a cottage village), with views to the beautiful lake and breath-taking fells.
The Lappish tipi hut with a tipi kitchen, a lakeside lean-to shelter with a camping fire place, in the summer also rowing boats with fishing licences and private beach are for free use for our guests. The villa is located close close to slopes and all skiing, snowmobile and hiking routes.
